Trojan Medical's mission is to be a focused healthcare company providing appropriate, affordable, convenient and quality healthcare to all. Its vision is to become the healthcare beacon in South Africa by the year 2010. This will be achieved through Trojan’s sustainable model.
The focus of the South African private healthcare market is on the employed and insured portion of the population, estimated at 20%, with the public sector servicing the balance. The public sector is stretched in providing healthcare services and many people falling outside of the insured segment are in need of an appropriate alternative choice.
Trojan’s strategy is to develop commercially viable but affordable products and services to the other 80% of the market, predominantly the employed but uninsured sector, estimated at 40% of the population. It is in this way that the private sector can play a role in developing a sustainable model for healthcare in South Africa.
